Rally Bulgaria July 2010
Watch it from in Front of the Villa!
From 9 to 11 of July, Borovets will be the headquarters of Rally Bulgaria 2009. The Rally has a 40-year history, beginning with the first race in 1970. The shakedown will be held on 7 July and the ceremonial start will be in the evening of 8 July.
The Rally has a total length of 1,068.30 km with 14 special stages (353.34 km) all in asphalt. In 2009 the Team consisting of Giandomenico Basso and Mitia Dotta won the 40th edition of Rally Bulgaria with a Fiat Grande Punto S2000.
One leg of the Rally passes directly in front of the Villa Stresov, providing spectators a wonderful view from in front of the Villa.

The Rila Monastery

A trip to the Rila Monastery is a must-do for anyone visiting Bulgaria. It is the largest and most impressive monastery in Bulgaria and a protected UNESCO heritage site.
The Rila Monastery is an architectural work of enormous dimensions, an apogee of the work of the renaissance craftsmen, icon-painters, wood-carvers, artisans in the artistic area where architecture and the decorative and monumental painting of stone, wood and metal are combined.
The story of this monastery reflects the entire history of the Bulgarian state and the Bulgarian people. To this day the monastery remains an important pilgrimage location for all Bulgarians who visit it regularly to revive their souls.

Your Hiking Adventure
Starts in Borovets!
 In the spring, summer and autumn, Borovets is the starting point for many hiking tours, including the ascent of Mount Musala, which at 2,925 meters is the Balkan Peninsula's highest peak. Guides are available to take hikers on a wide variety of itineraries in the Rila Mountains which allow wonderful views of the surroundings.
Borovets is serviced by a well-organized lift system. The cabin cableway to Mt. Yastrebets is the most imposing at 2,363 meters above sea level. The difference in altitude is 1,046 m and the length of the route is 4,827 m. Its capacity adds up to 1,200 people per hour.
