In the years since its founding, Borovets grew when prominent Bulgarian families - seeking beauty and calm within easy reach of the capital - built villas and chalets in this exclusive enclave for their year-round private use. Of the more than 320 villas built in Borovets, several were put up in the 1920s by members of the Stresov family of Sofia. One of these gems was the lovely Villa Stresov.
